ONTARIO SECURITY GUARD LICENSE REQUIREMENTS 

To be eligible for a licence, you must:
  • be 18 years old or older
  • be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • have a clean criminal record 
  • complete the mandatory basic training and test for security guards 
  • have an Ontario testing completion number from your mandatory test

Online Security Guard Training Course 

Our online Security Guard Training Course is recognized and required by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services prior to applying for the security guard licence. The objective of the course is to provide students with the occupational skills and attitude necessary to be a professional security guard. 
Upon completion of the Security Guard Training program, the student will understand:
  • Role and tasks of a security guard
  • Customer service and professionalism
  • Different types of communication
  • Report writing and note-taking
  • Patrolling procedures
  • Alarm systems
  • Traffic management
  • Legal aspects of a security guard’s responsibilities
  • Health and safety
  • Fire prevention and emergency procedures

  • Labor conflicts and crisis management
